Adaptive Image Feature Extraction Techniques for High-Resolution Computer Vision Applications
Abstract
High-resolution images have become increasingly prevalent in applications ranging from autonomous vehicles and medical imaging to satellite imagery and industrial inspection. Extracting meaningful features from such high-resolution data poses unique challenges, including computational complexity, memory limitations, and the need to capture both global and fine-grained information. This paper presents an in-depth study of adaptive image feature extraction techniques specifically tailored for high-resolution computer vision applications. The proposed approach dynamically adjusts feature extraction strategies based on image content, resolution, and application requirements, thereby optimizing both efficiency and accuracy. By combining spatial, spectral, and texture-based descriptors with adaptive pooling and hierarchical multi-scale analysis, the framework achieves robust representation of high-resolution images while reducing redundancy and computational overhead. The study evaluates the effectiveness of adaptive feature extraction across multiple datasets, demonstrating improvements in object recognition, segmentation, and scene understanding compared to traditional fixed-feature approaches. Experimental results indicate that adaptive techniques can maintain high discriminative power while significantly reducing feature dimensionality. The paper highlights the critical role of content-aware adaptation in modern high-resolution computer vision tasks, offering insights into balancing accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
