Peer Review Process

The International Journal of Science Research and Technology (IJSRAT) follows a rigorous double-blind peer-review process for all submitted manuscripts, in which the identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout. This ensures fairness, objectivity, and the highest standards of academic integrity. The complete review process typically takes 4 to 6 weeks, while the total duration from submission to publication averages 7 to 8 weeks.

Initial Editorial Assessment

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes a preliminary evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief or designated editorial members. This initial assessment examines:

  • Alignment with the journal’s aims and scope
  • Compliance with formatting, word count, and language standards
  • Originality, scholarly contribution, and relevance to the readership
  • Overall research quality and significance

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned for revision or rejected outright. Desk rejections generally occur if a submission falls outside the journal’s scope, demonstrates insufficient originality, contains significant methodological or language deficiencies, or fails to meet academic standards. Authors are notified promptly to facilitate timely resubmission to alternative venues.

Peer Review Stage

Manuscripts passing the initial assessment are sent to two independent subject-matter experts for detailed evaluation. Reviewers are selected based on the manuscript abstract and receive the full text upon agreeing to review. Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could affect their evaluation.

Each reviewer assesses the manuscript according to a structured framework, considering:

  • Novelty and originality
  • Contribution to the field and existing literature
  • Research methodology and study design
  • Ethical compliance and integrity
  • Clarity of results, discussion, and conclusions
  • Organization, language quality, and adherence to guidelines
  • Relevance and adequacy of references

Reviewers provide anonymous, constructive feedback to support authors in improving their work. In cases of significant disagreement between reviewers, additional expert review may be conducted. Review recommendations include:

  • Accept without revision
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Accept with major revisions
  • Reject

Revision Stage

Authors are required to address all reviewer comments and submit revised manuscripts within the specified timeframe: one week for minor revisions and two weeks for major revisions. The editorial team ensures that revisions are complete, transparent, and adequately address reviewer concerns.

Final Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief reviews the revised manuscript to confirm that all feedback has been satisfactorily addressed. The manuscript may be accepted, returned for further revision, or rejected if the revisions are insufficient. This step reflects IJSRAT’s commitment to quality, rigor, and scholarly integrity.

Copyediting, Production, and Proofreading

Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, layout formatting, and proofreading to ensure clarity, consistency, and professional presentation. Authors receive a final PDF proof for approval prior to online publication.

Complaints and Appeals

IJSRAT maintains a transparent and fair complaints policy. Any concerns regarding editorial procedures, peer review, or publication ethics are reviewed impartially. Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a formal request to the Editor-in-Chief. Appeals are evaluated by reviewing the manuscript, reviewer reports, and editorial rationale, with additional reviewers consulted if necessary. The Editor-in-Chief’s decision following an appeal is final. All complaints and appeals are acknowledged within two working days.
