Parallel Data Processing Architectures for Large-Scale Analytical Workloads
Abstract
Parallel data processing architectures have become crucial in handling large-scale analytical workloads, particularly with the exponential growth of data generated in modern enterprises. Traditional serial processing techniques are insufficient for managing massive datasets efficiently, prompting the adoption of parallel and distributed computing frameworks. This research explores various parallel data processing architectures, including cluster computing, grid computing, MapReduce, and in-memory processing systems such as Apache Spark. The study emphasizes how these architectures enable data partitioning, task parallelism, and efficient resource utilization to achieve high throughput and low-latency analytical results. It also examines the trade-offs associated with these architectures, such as complexity, fault tolerance, and scalability challenges. Through an in-depth review of current literature and methodologies, this paper provides a comparative analysis of different parallel processing models, highlighting their suitability for specific analytical workloads. The findings underscore the critical role of architecture selection in optimizing performance, reducing execution time, and enabling real-time insights in large-scale data environments. The research concludes by proposing best practices for designing and implementing parallel processing frameworks for enterprise-scale analytics
